Green peas were always a staple in my kitchen—both when I was growing up in Serbia and later, when my girls were little. They loved them, and so did I. Green peas are such a great source of plant-based protein, and they always made a quick and nourishing addition to our meals.

That changed a bit after we discovered that my youngest is allergic to green peas. Honestly, I had never even heard of a pea allergy before—it really surprised me. I share more about that experience in my blog post if you’re curious.
